Oh my goodness, this Toll House Famous Fudge recipe was AWESOME! I made Christmas gifts for some family members and this fudge was the hit of the giveaways. I topped each box with some festive ribbon and a sticker saying, “Toll House Famous Fudge”. Presentation is everything you know.

That delicious chocolate dessert made from a chocolate chip cookie recipe. The name “tollhouse” supposedly came from the cookies used to make this fudge. I don’t know how that’s exactly how it happened…but what I do know is there’s a lot of great things you can do with the recipe and I have them all right here for you!

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup NESTLE CARNATION Evaporated Milk
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups NESTLE TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions:

Line 8-inch-square baking pan with foil. COMBINE sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and salt in a medium saucepan.

Heat over medium, stirring constantly until it reaches a full rolling boil.

Continue boiling and stirring for 4 to 5 minutes.

Remove from heat.

Stir in marshmallows, chocolate morsels, nuts, and vanilla extract.

Stir vigorously for about a minute until marshmallows are fully melted.

Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until it becomes firm.

Remove from the pan by lifting the foil and cut into pieces.

The Toll House Way:These classic and easy-to-follow instructions for making fudge, written by Ruth Wakefield in 1939, have been passed from one generation to the next.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1 1/2 cups NESTLE TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans optional
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • LINE 8-inch-square baking pan with foil.
  • COMBINE sugar, evaporated milk, butter and salt in medium, heavy-duty saucepan. Bring to a full rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil, stirring constantly, for 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • STIR in marshmallows, morsels, nuts and vanilla extract. Stir vigorously for 1 minute or until marshmallows are melted. Pour into prepared baking pan; refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm. Lift from pan; remove foil. Cut into pieces.
