Instructions
Bring the water to a rolling boil in a small saucepan.
If using cinnamon sticks and vanilla beans, add them to the pot, turn off the heat, and cover. If using ground cinnamon and vanilla extract, add those straight to the pot.
Let the mixture steep in the hot water for about 10 minutes.
Optional: Add black tea if using, and let it brew for 3-5 minutes based on your desired strength.
Gently heat the milk in a separate saucepan until warm but not boiling.
Strain the cinnamon-vanilla infusion into the warm milk and stir to combine.
Sweeten to taste with your favorite sweetener and stir.
Serve it hot, or for a refreshing twist, let it cool and serve over ice.
