Ingredients
2
large apples
diced
½ cup
unsweetened applesauce
1 ½ cups
all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon
salt
3 cups
powdered sugar
2 teaspoons
ground cinnamon
¼ cup
granulated sugar
⅓ cup
milk
2 teaspoons
baking powder
½ teaspoon
vanilla extract
1 unit
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon, stirring until everything is well blended.
Next, pour in the applesauce and milk, mixing until just combined.
Gently fold in the diced apples, being careful not to overmix.
Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a large skillet, bringing it to around 375°F.
Scoop 1/3 cup of the fritter batter and carefully drop it into the hot oil, flattening it slightly as you place it in.
Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until golden brown.
Flip it with tongs and continue cooking for another 1-2 minutes.
Once cooked, transfer the fritters to a cooling rack placed over a pan or parchment paper to catch any drippings.
Repeat this process until all the batter is used.
For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a medium-sized bowl until smooth.
Dip each fritter into the glaze and return them to the cooling rack to allow the glaze to harden.
