They say small children have the ability to recognize whether someone is a good person or not. It’s probably like that because little ones want to bond with people who are kindhearted as themselves. Isaiah is a young boy who loves watching football games with his auntie. She says that he is the sweetest and most lovable boy she knows. While watching this week’s high school football game something that will warm the hearts of everyone happened. Isaiah spotted a familiar face in the crowd and decided to approach her. That’s when Isaiah’s aunt realised the special bond between her nephew and the woman he saw. But what was interesting to watch was the reaction of the stranger when the young boy came closer.
Star, the aunt, decided to share this amazing encounter with her friends by posting the story on Facebook. Those who read it were touched by it and it quickly went viral.
“I don’t know who this lady is, but if you know her, tell her she’s awesome. Isaiah walked up to this lady at our last home game two weeks ago. He sat on her lap and they were talking like they knew each other. It lasted no more than 20 mins.
However, she left right after halftime to meet up with her little girl. Fast forward to tonight… not long after we sat down at the game Isaiah spotted her. She waved at him and he made his way up to her. I thought their interaction would be the same as last time but I was wrong…”
Once the boy spotted the woman he didn’t hesitate to get to her. When she recognized him, the woman took Isaiah in her lap and welcomed him with open arms. Watching them from afar everyone would assume the two were a mother and a son. They looked as though they knew each other for a very long time. No one would believe that they’ve never met before, except for those 20 minutes at the game 2 weeks ago.
The auntie didn’t want the woman to be bothered by Isaiah so she went to her and asked to take the boy back to his seat, but the stranger answered that not only she wasn’t bothered by the boy sitting in her lap, but that made her happy. She was a mother herself, but her child was 15 years old and she was obviously missing that kind of interaction. And who wouldn’t? Children’s presence can make every problem disappear, even for a while. She once again assured the auntie that she and the boy were fine and that both were happy to be hanging out together during the game.
I believe this story comes just at the right time. With all those tensions involving racial intolerance including bullying or even people getting killed because of the color of their skin, Isaiah and his friend teach us that love should be universal, and that we have to respect and care for each other no matter the race or the social background.
The auntie, along with her post said that she didn’t manage to get the woman’s name and people decided they’ll try to identify the kindhearted stranger. It appeared her name was Angela, which was confirmed by Sara’s post.
“We found out who she is. Her name is Mrs. Angela. She’s such a sweet lady, y’all! It’s awesome how God connects people together for whatever reason!”
Angela responded to Sara’s post saying:
“To God be all praise, glory, and honor! I have been overwhelmed with emotions today as I have read the post Star Balloon-Bradley shared. I am humbled by the kind words everyone has spoken. Isaiah is absolutely adorable! I pray people will [think of] Jesus in all this & know His love is beyond measure & that is how I want to love & live my life. I’m not worthy but He sure is!”
In just a few days, Star’s post has more nearly 1 million likes and more than 310,000 shares. Obviously, what Angela did for the boy was something everyone loved to see.
Angela had no idea that the encounter she had with the boy would gather that much of attention, she only did it because she felt that way. This story teaches us that we should always open our arms to love.
