Growing up one of my favorite meals was my mom’s Sloppy Joes. Instead of serving them on buns, my mom always served them in pita pockets which was so much fun to eat! Now that I have my own family, I realize how easy and quick this recipe is to make. This Sloppy Joes recipe only has 5 ingredients and I can whip it up in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 2/3 cup ketchup
- 2/3 cup chili sauce*
- 2/3 cup sweet relish
- 1 package pita pockets
Directions:
Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. When cooked, drain fat. Add ketchup, chili sauce, and sweet relish and simmer for 10 minutes over medium-low heat. Spoon Sloppy Joes into pita pockets and serve.
I hope your family enjoys this recipe as much as mine does!
*For the chili sauce, I use the Heinz brand. You can find it in a bottle near the ketchup and cocktail sauce in your grocery store.
