Did you know that you can make you’re a bar of carrot soap at home? A homemade bar of carrot soap is a great natural way of eliminating different skin problems and works on all skin types as well. The carrot soap can be used by people of all ages, and will hydrate your skin and clean your skin of impurities as well.

How to make carrot soap

The carrot soap can be made in two ways – with glycerin or caustic soda. Making it with glycerin is the better option, but it’s less durable than the caustic soda version. Here’s what you need to do:

Glycerin version

The glycerin carrot soap is great for cleaning your pores of dirt and works on all skin types. This soap can be used to remove makeup and other cosmetics from the face. The soap’s antioxidant properties make it a great option for everyday washing of the face.

To prepare the soap, you’ll need to get silicone molds first, as well as a wooden spoon and a glass bowl. Here are the ingredients:

Ingredients

100 gr. of carrot puree
200 ml. water
300 ml. coconut oil
400 ml. olive oil
500 gr. glycerin
10 drops of carrot seed essential oil
A tablespoon of honey

Preparation

Start by cutting down the glycerin to pieces and put them in a glass bowl, then melt them in a microwave for 10 minutes. Now, add the carrot puree and boiling water and mix well with the wooden spoon. Continue by adding the other ingredients as well, then pour the mixture into the mold and leave it to dry out for a full day. Take the pieces out of the mold after 24 hours, wrap them in lukewarm paper and leave them in a dry spot. The color of the carrot soap bar varies and depends on the ingredients used.

Caustic soda version

The caustic soda version is more durable than the glycerin option, but it’s not that natural. This type of soap is great for oily skin and can clean the skin and whole body of toxins. It can be used against acne and eczema and will protect the skin from harsh environmental factors. Before preparing this bar of soap, make sure you’re in a ventilated environment. Use a pair of gloves when handling the ingredients – everything’s the same except for the 500 gr. of glycerin which you replace with caustic soda.

Mix the boiling water and carrot puree in a glass bowl and add the caustic soda while stirring well. Mix well while the reaction takes place, then leave the mixture to cool down. Add the other ingredients and stir nicely to get a homogenous mixture, then pour it in the molds and leave the bars to dry for 2-3 days. Wrap them in lukewarm paper in the end and keep the carrot bar-caustic soda soap in a dry and cool place.

Both versions of the soap are safe for all skin types and age groups, but if you notice any kind of adverse reaction, it’s advisable to stop using the bar.
