No, serious face. This is by far the easiest and yummiest dessert ever. Do you have 2 minutes of hands on time and about 45 minutes to sip some coffee (whatever)..while something bakes? Yeah..I thought so.
My sister-in-law was the first person to introduce me to this delight….we needed something simple yet impressive, comforting yet different, for an event at work (my favorite part of my job that isn’t even technically my job…cooking and baking). She whipped out three ingredients and flipped on the oven. I was confused…I did not understand how these three things were going to produce an acceptable and delectable dessert.
Ready….pie filling, box of cake mix, and butter. Yep
I halved the recipe since it was just my little family of four. Who am I kidding….I halved it so the hubs and I wouldn’t be tempted to polish off an entire 9 x 13 pan of this deliciousness. But wait, if I made two 9 in pie plates…and the coefficient of 18 is…whatever. I felt better about it at least.
The best part about this recipe is the flexibility in the combinations!! Play with it! Here are some of “The Boiled Noodle” household faves:

With the massive amounts of cake mix flavors out there…the opportunities are endless!! Make one tonight…it really is the easiest dessert ever!!
