Ingredients:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 TBSL Butter
Directions:
Cream 1/2 cup butter and sugar in food processor. Add flour and process just until blended. Dough will not form a ball.
Pat into bottom of a greased 9 inch square pan and bake at 350 degrees 15 minutes until lightly browned.
Beat the brown sugar, the maple syrup and 1 tbsp butter to blend. Beat in the egg and the vanilla.
Pour over the baked shortbread, sprinkle with the nuts and continue baking at 350 degrees 25 minutes or until set.
Cool and cut into bars.
Makes appx 24 bars.
