Gross everyone out and simultaneously delight taste buds with this awesome red velvet Brain Cake. If I take the time to bake something I don’t usually want people shouting, “GROSS! EW!!” But this cake is the one of a kind icky I’m after on Halloween.
“How To Cake It” YouTube sensation and baking guru Yolanda Gampp has over 18-years experience whipping up some mighty delicious sweet treats, but her Brain Cake is one of her most jaw dropping masterpieces of all. Gampp uses her YouTube channel to unleash her cake baking passions, making many different cakes from what she calls her “caking bucket list.”
Gampp writes on Bored Panda, “If I can make someone say, “Is that a CAKE?!” I know I’ve done my job.”
Gampp was inspired to make this cake thanks to The Walking Dead premiere. She writes, “Why should humans have all the fun? Zombies deserve a premiere celebration too! I whipped them up a blood red velvet Brain Cake with ropes of brainy fondant and oozing with seedless raspberry jam.”
The best part is you too can make this creepy red velvet Brain Cake at home by following Gampp’s instructions provided below.
You start by carving your deep red velvet cake into the shape of a brain, like so:
Next, layer it with simple syrup in order to give it that naturally moist appearance.
“Roll your fondant into ropes, and twizzle it into brain tissue. Yes, twizzle is the technical term.”
Use a baking brush to cover your Brain Cake in delicious raspberry jam. Pay close attention to all of the nooks and crannies.
It’s really that simple! Now invite your friends over to feast like Zombies.
