You will need:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tsp tomato paste
  • 2 1/2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 Green Mill Texas Toast
  • 1 oz shredded cheddar cheese

How to:

First things first, get that oven preheating to 375°F for your Texas Toast.

Now, on the stovetop over medium heat, cook up your ground beef and onion until they’re browned nicely.

Don’t forget to drain off any excess fat once they’re ready. Time to add in the ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and don’t forget a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Give it all a good stir until everything’s well combined. Let that mixture simmer over medium heat until it thickens up just how you like it. While your sauce is thickening, pop those Green Mill Texas Toast slices into the preheated oven. Let them bake for about 5-6 minutes until they’re beautifully golden brown.

Once your toast is ready, it’s time to assemble. Scoop a generous helping of your Sloppy Joe mixture onto each piece of golden-brown Texas Toast. And for the finishing touch, sprinkle about ¼ oz of cheddar cheese on top of each piece. Voila! You’ve got yourself some delicious Texas Toast Sloppy Joes ready to enjoy.
